Ukraine's steel output plunged 7.2% year on year to 1.71 million mt in February as the coronavirus pandemic significantly reduced demand, Ukrmetallurgprom, the country's steelmaking industry association, said Wednesday. Ukrainian steel producers expect more pain ahead as the pandemic, which started in China and is now affecting global markets, will probably cut demand for steel on an even wider basis, Oleksandr Kalenkov, president of Ukrmetallurgprom, said.
