US HRC prices holding as buyers hunt for pricing, availability

US hot-rolled coil prices were holding on Nov. 3 as buyers continued to search for new pricing and availability from domestic mills. Many were growing concerned about a potential spike in January prices as the market remains steel short. The daily Platts TSI US HRC index was unchanged at $699.75/st and has been hovering around the $700/st levels for nearly a week.
