Brazilian July ferrous scrap exports rise 1.8% on year

Brazil's ferrous scrap exports increased 1.8% year on year in July to 76,459 mt, economy ministry data showed Aug. 26. Compared with June, exports dipped 0.3% month on month from 76,741 mt, the data showed. In the first seven months of 2020, exports totaled 469,371 mt, up 36.4% year on year, according to the data. About 27,702 mt of the July material left Brazil via the port of Santos while the port of Itajaí saw 21,723 mt in shipments and Manaus 7,515 mt, according to the ministry data.
