Turkish export rebar prices soften on lower scrap prices, low demand

Turkish export rebar prices were heard lower Aug. 18 as mills lessen their hold on higher offers, and instead become more amenable to negotiations with buyers on the back of lower scrap prices, sources told S&P Global Platts. S&P Global Platts assessed Turkish exported rebar at $440/mt FOB Turkey Aug. 18, down $2.50/mt day on day and Turkish imports of premium heavy melting scrap 1/2 (80:20) were assessed at $282.50/mt CFR, falling $2.25/mt on the day.
