HRC and slab pricing remains strong in Black Sea market, offers up

Black Sea coils and slab prices continued to increase on the back of tighter availability as well as strong markets in other regions, including Turkey, Asia and Europe, sources said Sept. 16. Hot-rolled coil transaction prices reached $500/mt FOB Black Sea, according to a Turkish buyer. A trading source put a workable level for the Turkish market between $495-$500/mt FOB. He added that the Vietnamese market might accept $540/mt CFR, which worked back to $500/mt FOB Black Sea. The new asking prices were pegged at $510/mt FOB, for Russian material. Ukrainian coils were quoted at $515-$525/mt CFR Turkey, which netted back to $500-$510/mt FOB Mariupol.
