India aims to slap tariffs on tinplate from US, EU, Japan and S Korea

India has recommended antidumping duties of $222-$334/mt on coated/plated tin mill flat rolled steel products from the European Union, Japan, South Korea and the US for five years, the Directorate General of Trade Remedies, or DGTR, a body of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, said June 18. The tariffs stem from an investigation that began June 28, 2019, following a request from JSW Vallabh Tinplate and The Tinplate Company of India, alleging dumping of the products mentioned.
