AISI urges US lawmakers to push long-term infrastructure funding as bill passes

The American Iron and Steel Institute has issued a statement calling on US lawmakers to pass a long-term surface transportation bill following passage of the INVEST in America Act by the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee on June 18. "An efficient and robust transportation network is essential to the competitiveness of the domestic steel industry, its customers and suppliers, and American manufacturing as a whole,” AISI CEO Thomas Gibson said in a statement issued late June 18. “We are pleased that Congress and the White House continue to take steps to pass important infrastructure legislation."
