China domestic billet prices rise post return from Golden Week holidays

Asian billet prices were steady Oct. 9 with China back for the first day after Golden Week holidays. China domestic billet prices recovered along with the domestic futures market. China 5SP 150 mm square bar spot was assessed at a midpoint of $436/mt FOB China on Oct. 9, up $2/mt from Sept. 30. Trading activities were quiet for rebar and billet in Asia during the long China holidays as participants awaited cues from the Chinese market after the break.
