CIS pig iron exports remain strong on continuing Chinese interest

The Black Sea merchant pig iron market sustained upward momentum on the continuing import interest from China and despite the more subdued US market, sources said on Nov. 6. One CIS supplier reported a fresh sale of 50,000 mt directly to an end user at $405/mt CFR, early February shipment. This equated to $365-$370/mt FOB Black Sea, S&P Global Platts calculated. Other market sources did not confirm the market reached $405/mt CFR yet.
