Deepsea Turkish import scrap prices remained firm on Aug. 27, as US and Baltic recyclers pulled offers above $290/mt CFR. S&P Global Platts assessed Turkish imports of premium heavy melting scrap 1/2 (80:20) at $288.50/mt CFR on Aug. 27, up 50 cents/mt on day. “We are not so far from $290/mt CFR, but there could be resistance around $290-$295/mt CFR. A domestic rebar price level of $440-$445/mt EXW supports $290-$295/mt max,” a Turkish mill source said.
