WEEKLY SCRAP WRAP: Price support weakens across markets

After several weeks of price gains in most markets, thin trading in the week ending January 3 led tosome downward pressure on prices.While little selling and buying activity was observed at the beginning of the week, some Turkish buyershad shown interest in February shipments toward the end of the week, albeit at lower prices.Turkish buyers were targeting prices close to $295/mt CFR for premium HMS 1/2 (80:20) amid sluggishlong product sales, but US and EU recyclers looked to resist at $300/mt CFR on tight scrap supply andsupport coming from domestic markets.
