Asian hot-rolled coil prices continued their downtrend Wednesday, amid persistent weakness in the Chinese domestic market as well as absence of trading activity in the overseas markets with buyers withdrawing. S&P Global Platts assessed SS400 HRC 3 mm thick at $407/mt FOB China on Wednesday, down $3/mt day on day. On a CFR Southeast Asia basis, the same grade of coil was assessed at $405/mt, down $5/mt from the previous day.
