Vallourec to trim North American workforce by one-third

Vallourec is reducing its steel pipe production in North America in response to the sudden and significant drop in demand from oil and gas customers, the French pipe maker said Monday. The reduction will affect more than 900 employees, or more than one-third of the company's total workforce and contractor positions in North America, across all its plants and support functions, Vallourec said.
