Offer prices for domestic billet began to show some recovery in Turkey this week, in line with some upturn seen in imported scrap prices, following a slump in the previous weeks. Some billet sales were concluded in the domestic market both in the Istanbul and the Karabuk regions last week generally at $390/mt ex-works, a trade source told S&P Global Platts Tuesday, adding that some export sales were also concluded at $390/mt on an FOB basis, while CIS mills' offers to the Turkish market were at $380-$385/mt FOB.
