European HRC market awaits further price hikes as availability remains limited

The European hot-rolled coil market continued its trend upward as lack of imports, limited availability and the imminent anticipation of higher offers weighs on prices, market sources told S&P Global Platts Nov 12. The daily Platts TSI index for HRC Northern Europe increased Eur3/mt on the day to Eur521.50/mt EXW Ruhr Nov. 12, a level not seen since Jan. 14, 2019. The daily Platts TSI index for HRC Italy increased 50-euro cents on day to Eur500/mt EXW Italy Nov. 12, the highest level since Nov. 7, 2018. CRC in Northern Europe remained stable at Eur583/mt EXW Ruhr.
