Europe imports almost 100,000 mt of HRC in the week to May 22

The latest data from the European Commission shows hot-rolled coil imports from countries with a 30% safeguard quota cap amounted to 99,912 mt in period from from May 15 to May 22, with material originating from Russia almost double that arriving from Turkey. Import volumes from Russia totalled 45,226 mt, down slightly from the average of 57,000 mt clearing customs each week in the preceeding four week period.
