Iran's 8 months' DRI output up 15.2% on year: worldsteel

Iran's direct-reduced iron (DRI) output increased in January-August, according to theWorld Steel Association's latest monthly report. Some 19.1 million mt of DRI was produced by Iran in the eight-month period, a 16.3% increase on year.Production of DRI in the overall Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region was alsohigher in the period, mainly driven by Iran and Egypt. According to the worldsteel report,MENA countries produced 30.4 million mt of DRI in the period, up 14.3% on year.
