S&P Global Platts assessed the 62% Fe Iron Ore Index at $92.80/dry mt CFR North ChinaFriday, up 20 cents/dmt on day and up $1/dmt on the week.Market sources were uncertain this past week whether large-scale restocking activitieswould occur before the Labor Day holidays despite attractive steel margins. A cautiousapproach to iron ore procurement could be taken while awaiting updates for productioncontrol policies in May, a Hebei procurement source said.
