Chinese shipyard deliveries soar, but new orders fall

The number of new vessels delivered by Chinese shipbuilders equated to 19.66 milliondeadweight tons in the first half of 2019, up by 4.2% on year, according to Ministry ofIndustry and Information Technology of China (MIIT). The growth pace accelerated fromthe 1.4% on year increase over January-May.
