Hebei to withdraw 14 million mt/year of steel capacity

China's biggest steelmaking province, Hebei, has set out to reduce the concentration ofparticulate matter under 2.5 micrometers by over 5% in 2019. As part of the effort, Hebeiwill withdraw 14 million mt/year of steel production capacity from the province this year,while all the steel mills in Tangshan, Handan, Shijiazhuang and Xingtai city must meetultra-low emission standards by the end of 2019.Hebei has also ordered at least half of the steel mills in other parts of the province to meetultra-low emission standards within 2019.
