US plate prices tick up but yet to realize mill hikes

US plate prices ticked higher on Friday following two recent rounds of mill hikes but buyingactivity at the higher offers was still slow.The daily Platts TSI US plate price increased by $8.25/st $738/st on a delivered Midwestbasis. Plate mills have announced $80/st of price increases since the end of July but to amuted reaction. Many buyers have shown reluctance to jump in to the market while a fewrestock purchases were heard.
