China's Jan-Oct rebar output up 18% on strong building market

China's rebar production rose by 18.4% on year over January-October to 206.95 million mt, boosted by strong construction growth and relatively high rebar margins. Rebar output in October of 22.07 million mt was up 11.9% on the year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. China’s wire rod output rose 10.4% on the year over January-October to 132.71 million mt. October’s wire rod output reached 13.46 million mt, up 0.5% from a year earlier.
