Upward trend for Chilean scrap continues

As had been predicted, scrap prices have continued to rise in the Chilean market following theprice surge initiated last month, local traders tell SBB.Domestic users Proacer and Gerdau Aza upped their offer prices during March to170,000-180,000 Chilean pesos/tonne (USD$353-374/t) for cut and heavy melting scrap,the latter pegged at the higher end of the price spectrum.
