German forges will buy more steel this year than originally forecast, according to theirnational federation Industrieverband Massivumformung. Forge production was expected to grow 10% this year compared to 2010, but this is now expected to be closer to 15%. This would mean a steel intake of around 2.5 million tonnes,translating to finished product production of 2.3mt, the federation's managing directorTheodor L. Tutmann says.
