Effect of different culture media on radial growth, biomass, sporulation and pathogenicity of native isolate of Paecilomyces lilacinus collected from potato field in Nilgiris District was studied under room temperature (17 deg C ). Four culture media viz. Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA), yeast molasses, Czebdox Dextrose Agar (CDA) and Sabrod Dextrose Agar (SDA) were studied. Among the culture media tested, greater radial growth (4.1 cm), biomass (23.25 mg/100 ml) and sporulation (121 x 10~4/100 ml) wereobserved in PDA. Similarly, parasitization of the eggs of potato cyst nematodes- (Globodera rostochiensis and G. pallida) by the egg- parasitic fungus, Paecilomyces lilacinus, was higher when the fungus multiplied in the PDA.
