摘要

We propose a Feedback seeding (FBS) scheme for SOA-based ONUs. In our proposed scheme, there is a centralized laser source to provide coherent light wave at OLT. Our main objective is to improve the performance of the conventional remote seeding scheme by using part of the amplified signal as seeding power to saturate the SOA with low seeding power from OLT. The performance of Feedback seeding scheme (FBS) is verified using the Optisystem and matlab software packages. The results demonstrate that the proposed FBS scheme can operate sufficiently with a low seeding power from the central office. The results show that the proposed scheme provides significant improvement in bit error rate performance and optical signal to noise ratio OSNR. The OSNR is higher in FBS scheme than in remote seeding scheme between 1525 nm and 1585 nm.
