Neem seed kernel and neem seed coat as well as residues of these after taking out extracts (water-soluble fractions) were effective in reducing number of root-knot galls caused by Meloidogyne incognita in chickpea (cv. Pusa- 240), as soil amendments @ 1% w/w. However, percentage reduction in the root knot galls in neem seed kernel and neem seed coat, Where aqueous extracts were not taken out, was more than that in water extracted residues of same, respectively. Minimum number of root knot galls were found in neem seed kernel powder followed by water-extracted-residue of the same and neem seed coat as such while maximum number of root knot galls resulted in water-extracted-residue of neem seed coat.
