Technology connects us, but do vendors connect with customers?

Computer technology- hot products of 2002, expected products for 2003- was the focus of the keynotes at this year's Comdex Show. Keynoter Bill Gates concentrated on the cool world of connectedness and component tehnology, while AMD's CEO, Hector Ruiz, tossed in a caveat about technology for technology's sake that echoes my own concerns.
