One of the highlights on the Beckhoff stand at the Hannover Fair was its new XTS drive system (extended Transport System). The XTS drive system brings together the benefits of rotary and linear drive systems. The motor has been completely integrated together with power electronics and displacement measurement. One or more wireless movers can be controlled with high dynamics at up to 4 m/sec on a mechanical guide rail that promises almost arbitrary flexibility and opens the door to completely new machine concepts.
