Baker Hughes: US Oil Drilling Continues December Decline

The number of active drilling rigs targeting oil in the US continued to decline last week, according to data from oil-field services provider Baker Hughes, as lower oil prices and dwindling budgets appear to be taking a toll on US upstream activity. Baker Hughes' data show that the US oil rig count decreased by four during the week ended Dec. 14 to 873, its lowest point in two months.
