Tensions over oil exports from the world’s most prolific hydrocarbon region, the Mideast Gulf, were on the rise Tuesday after Iranian President Hassan Rouhani reiterated earlier warnings that any attempts by the US to stop his country’s crude sales would result in all oil exports from the area being blocked. "We will sell our oil and they [the US] can’t stop us from doing this,” Rouhani said during a speech at the northern Iranian city of Shahroud, adding that “if the US wants to stop our oil sales, no oil will be exported from the Persian Gulf."
