EOG Increases Capex, Bucks Permian M&A Rush

Although consolidation is top of mind for many Permian Basin producers that covet the scale and scope of a manufacturing operation, one leading US independent says that it's not interested. EOG Resources intends to grow, CEO Bill Thomas said during the Houston-based company's third-quarter earnings call with investors and analysts on Friday. But it won't come from a multibillion-dollar corporate merger similar to those deals that have dominated Permian news so far in the second half of 2018.
