Venezuelan Exports to US Continue to Fall as Conditions Worsen

US imports of Venezuelan crude have dipped yet again, averaging just under 340,000 barrels per day so far in August, according to data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). Imports from Venezuela have been in a steady decline over the past year. EIA data show shipments from the South American country to the US averaged 708,000 b/d in May 2017 and slid down to 490,000 b/d in May (OD Aug.1’18). Imports for the third quarter have averaged 433,000 b/d so far, according to official data.
