EIA Looks Beyond GDP for Energy Forecasts

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) plans to get a better understanding of what is driving energy use in the world and wants to look beyond the growth of a country’s gross domestic product (GDP) as the dominant factor. Rolling out the agency’s International Energy Outlook through 2040, EIA Administrator Linda Capuano told a gathering Tuesday in Washington that the agency wants to improve its international modeling capabilities.
