Eni Strikes Oil in Egypt

Eni said on Thursday that it has found oil in the South West Meleiha Block in the Egyptian Western Desert, north of the Siwa Oasis. The SWM A-2X well is producing 2,300 b/d of light oil and 0.4 MMcf/d of associated gas, Eni said. The well was drilled to a depth of 5,090 meters and appraisal drilling is planned. Production will be transported via pipeline to the El Hamra export terminal.
