Private equity-backed start-up Impact Oil & Gas is close to acquiring its first major asset with a deal in the emerging Powder River Basin, Oil Daily has learned. The deal, which was expected to close this week, would be the latest transaction in the tight oil play in the US Rockies, which has been gaining attention as unconventional operators look for new frontiers outside well-established unconventional areas (OD Jan.4'18).
