US Oil Output Dips Below 10 Million b/d in December

Production of crude oil in the US fell back below 10 million barrels per day in the final month of 2017 due to a decline in volumes from the US Gulf of Mexico, according to data released Wednesday by the Energy Information Administration (EIA). EIA data show that domestic crude oil output averaged 9.949 million b/d in December 2017, a decrease of about 108,000 b/d from the all-time high of 10.057 million b/d set in the previous month (OD Feb.1'18).
