Shell Takes Stake in US Solar Firm

Royal Dutch Shell said it has agreed to acquire a 43.8% interest in US solar energy company Silicon Ranch from funds managed or advised by Partners Group, a Swiss-based private equity firm. Shell said it will pay $193 million-$217 million for the shares, contingent on Silicon Ranch achieving predetermined milestones. A separate agreement will give Shell the option to increase its ownership of the company after 2021.
