Israel’s Petroleum Council has awarded six offshore blocks to Greece’s Energean and a consortium of four state Indian firms, concluding the country’s first licensing round, which failed to attract much investment. Greek minnow Energean took Blocks 12, 21, 22, 23 and 31 while the Indian group took Block 32. The Indian state firms include ONGC Videsh, Indian Oil Corp., Oil India and Bharat PetroResources.
