Oxy Predicts US Crude Export Surge

Occidental Petroleum sees North American production continuing its surge over the next five years, which will lead to a dramatic increase in oil exports as refineries exhaust their capacity to process light, sweet crude grades. Production from tight oil plays and the Canadian oil sands could increase by as much as 4.1 million barrels per day by 2021, and as much as 3 million b/d of the increase will be shipped abroad, Cindy Fisher, director of Gulf Coast crude trading and fundamental analysis at Oxy, said at an industry event in Houston.
