Russian President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday that any extension of the Opec and non-Opec production cut deal would likely last until the end of next year. Speaking at the Russian Energy Week forum, Putin emphasized, however, that a final decision on any extension would be made based on how oil market fundamentals look at the end the first quarter in 2018. But “I don’t exclude that such a decision will be taken,” he said, noting market players’ interest in price stability.
