摘要

Adenophora palustris is an endangered wetland plant species in Japan. The population sizes of this species are extremely small and currently only five extant populations are known. Consequently, A. palustris is classified as "critically endangered" in the Japanese Red Data Book. We isolated and characterized nine microsatellite loci in this species. The number of alleles ranged from 2 to 8, observed heterozygosity from 0.26 to 0.81, and expected heterozygosity from 0.34 to 0.79. The markers described here will be useful for investigating the genetic diversity, genetic structure, and gene flow of A. palustris, and also in planning for the conservation of this species.
