Sonatrach CEO: Algeria to Revisit Shale Gas, Fiscal Reforms

Algerian state Sonatrach is renewing a drive to develop its huge shale gas reserves with up to four oil majors as it moves to reform its hydrocarbon legislation to attract new investment, CEO Abdelmoumen Ould Kaddour told Oil Daily. "Everything will be looked at — tax incentives, shale gas, exploration periods — everything. The government has decided there should be a new reform [to] the law so we are starting right now to put a group together,” said Ould Kaddour, speaking at the Oil & Money conference in London, co-hosted by Energy Intelligence and the New York Times.
