In the first House of Lords committee hearing on how Brexit will affect the UK’s energy security, industry experts highlighted various challenges the country can expect to face including issues with storage and trade with the remaining members of the EU. Experts agreed that while trade is likely to continue, it will not come as easily. “Energy trade between the UK and the EU-27 would continue even in the event of no agreement but the key risk is around how efficient that trade actually is,” Georgina Wright, Europe program director at Chatham House said.
