US, Caribbean Prepare for Monster Hurricane Irma

As the recovery from Hurricane Harvey continues, Caribbean nations and the US prepare for Hurricane Irma, one of the strongest storms ever recorded in the Atlantic, with sustained winds of 185 miles per hour. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) in the US said the storm will bring widespread destruction to Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, the Bahamas, Cuba and eventually the US. The NHC forecast models have Hurricane Irma making landfall at the tip of Florida and traveling up the peninsula, threatening the entire state and Georgia.
