Mexico Touts Success of Onshore Auction

Mexico's government said it was pleased with the results of an auction for onshore acreage on Wednesday, with upstream regulator CNH awarding 21 of 24 areas on offer. After the bidding, the government said Mexico could receive almost $2.1 billion in new investment over the contracts' 30-year terms. The day's biggest winner was a locally based start-up, Jaguar, which took five blocks on its own and another six as part of a consortium with Canadian independent Sun God Resources (OD Jul.13'17).
