Forecast Sees Less Active Hurricane Season

The 2017 Atlantic hurricane season should be less active than last year’s, according to AccuWeather, a private forecasting firm. The season runs from Jun. 1 through Nov. 30. The AccuWeather forecast calls for 10 named storms. Five of those storms are predicted to become hurricanes with winds in excess of 74 mph, and three could be major events with winds exceeding 111 mph.
