Libya NOC Oil Revenues Climb to $2.13B in July

Libya’s state National Oil Corp. (NOC) saw revenues from crude and product sales rise to $2.13 billion in July, up 23% from June’s $1.73 billion, thanks to a rise in late-June crude shipments which were settled in the company’s July accounts (IOD Aug.12’19). The revenue increase comes despite the chronic difficulties faced by Libya’s oil sector in relation to the country’s ongoing civil conflict which has continued since the revolution in 2011. NOC staff, fields, pipelines and ports are frequently targeted by lawless militias and criminal groups, making the Opec member an unreliable supplier of crude to global markets.
