Declines in drilling activity in major Texas oil plays extended the descent of the US oil rig count for yet another week, data from oil-field services provider Baker Hughes show. The number of active drilling rigs targeting oil in the US slid by seven during the first full week of November to a total of 684, according to Baker Hughes, its lowest point in more than two-and-a- half years.
