Search Ends for Missing Offshore Worker

The search has been called off for a worker missing since last week in the US Gulf of Mexico from Renaissance Offshore’s Eugene Island 331 platform. Workers told the US Coast Guard early on May 29 that a 54-year-old man had entered the water (OD May31’19). He was last seen performing rounds before disappearing from the structure about 75 nautical miles from Vermilion Bay, Louisiana. A helicopter and ocean aircrew, along with the platform’s operators, assisted in the search. The 56-hour search covered about 3,701 sq miles.
